Another killer 650 build

Came across this sweet little build via 8negro. The builders are La Corona, based out of Barcelona and this xs650 is their first build. Good shit! Looking forward to what else they conjure up...

Parts West

Wifey and I headed out Sunday morning for a moto ride after breakfast. She had never been out to Lake County on the motorbike so a trip out to Sugarloaf and Minneola was good way to get her aquatinted with the area. Here's a few pics from the ride...

Something big coming our way?

Looks like Jason over at Dime City is scouting the area for a possible "stop-in and eat, cafe style establishment" in the Orlando area. From what it appears, this is for a well known establishment. (Ace Cafe anyone?) He posted a thread over at Do The Ton asking for feedback. Drop by and chime in with your two cents...

Early autumn skies

The weather has been amazing the past couple of days and yesterday evening was one of the best so far. The low humidity and the nice temps had me logging in miles around the metroplex. Sundays evenings tend to be a good time to ride as there is little traffic which makes it perfect IMO. Riding around yesterday you could just sense it. Its kind of hard to describe; its like you're starting to feel the transition ever so slightly. Dont get me wrong, its still 90 out and thunderstorms will dump on you out of nowhere. But something about the skies... You just see it. Combine it with the temps and the low humidity and you cant help but think of the eventual arrival of the Fall...

November is when we hit the dry season and what we call "Fall". Just a month and a half to go...

Who the fuck is this chicken head?

So I as I mentioned a week ago, I received my goods from the boys over at VNM. If you've been out of the loop and you're not familiar with VNM, VNM is an apparel company started by a group of artists based in the eastern United States. Their designs are wicked and evokes a motorcycle-inspired / early 80's hardcore look and feel which really tends to resonate with me. The artwork is straight up quality and the ink color choices enhance the artwork nicely.

So I received 3 t-shirts from VNM; Positive Youth, Hellhound and War Pigeon. All 3 of the designs stand out in a crowd and grab people's attention. Case in point; I wore the Positive Youth shirt on a lunch run to Whole Foods and was asked about it no less than 4 times while there. These designs grab your attention and you're bound to turn heads when you wear these out; even without the chicken head mask.

These bad boys are silk screened, no cheap heat transfer shit and the colors used in the designs offer plenty of contrast against the t-shirts. War Pigeon is one of my favorites because of the orange ink used but all of the ones I saw came out very well done in terms of printing. Hellhound in particular is a bitchin' long sleeve that's going to be perfect for motorcycle rides once fall starts setting in. The t-shirts are a bit of a baggier fit in the midsection than your typical American Apparel (good for hiding the spare tire around your waist) but they do run a bit smaller than your average shirt. I usually wear a Large but had to go with the XL in this case.

All in all a killer first run from this new company. They had to deal with distribution issues earlier in the year but these have been sorted out and orders have been shipping for a while now. I saw a sneak peek of the follow up line due next year and they're continuing the momentum set by this first line. I highly recommend you pick one up because these bad boys are sure to run out...

Check out the full line at the VNM Store.

If you're in the NYC area

You have no excuse for missing this...

Run to the coast

Rode out to Titusville Florida Friday night for no real good reason. It had been a while since we had gotten together and hung out so the destination wasn't really important as so much as the company and the process of getting some miles in. Not to mention the weather was fucking perfect in terms of temperature and lack of rain. Rode out from downtown to CR46, headed east out to US 1, then south into Titusville. Travis was hungry and we ended up stopping at the most garish looking, day glow paint having, fluorescent lighted Burger King on the east coast. Seriously, this place had the most f'ed up interior that gave it a real Fear and Loathing type vibe. Word has it Travis is a bit of a BK Lounge junkie thus the motivation for the stop. Had we driven a few more minutes down the road, we could have hit a really cool, 50's styled diner (with a $5.99 shrimp basket special and sweet waitresses no less) but alas, none of us knew the area very well... Next time!

Regardless, we had a great ride. Something about doing a ton on a pitch black road that is both scary as fuck / exhilarating. The same kind of feeling you had when you rode Space Mountain for the first time; where you're laughing hysterically and pooping your pants at the same time. Thankfully, all we had to deal with were bugs to the grill / chest that night. We did see a couple of deer on the side of the road but nothing crazy the whole ride there and back. At some points it was down right cold but overall it felt great to be out riding in the cool night air. Once we got back in town, we hit Redlight Redlight, had a couple of beers and called it a night...

I honestly expected Raoul Duke and Dr Gonzo to come stumbling in at any moment...

Dunno what's funnier; Horsebites and his beak extension or the look of bewilderment on Alan Degenerates face as he bit down on that "California Whopper"...

Hot Fudge Injection!

KTB likes his ice cream.... :)

Damn good ride with damn good people. Its the little moments like this that remind us we are all still alive...
